New Moon in Virgo: Lilith The Feminine Messiah

There’s a strong Lilith presence this new moon, in fact she seems to be everywhere all at once. Like hot plasma she comes through interstellar tunnels direct from the Galactic Centre with an impressive planetary entourage. Originally an ancient wind demon of the night, Lilith dances in a grand fire trine this new moon with Vesta at 26 ° Aries; Vesta has been partnering with Chiron for much of the year and continues to do so even while Chiron has shifted into Taurus. On the other vertex of the trine sits the lunar south node at 28 ° Leo.

Many of the pioneers of feminism like Gloria Steinem were celebrated as empowering women and advancing their position in a patriarchal system, but the reality has a far darker underbelly where good intentions and reasonable desires were subverted and used as tools of control. These agendas do not spring out of isolation as independent entities but are part of a far greater, longer running strategy. Sudden or unexplained social trends such as thousands of girls suddenly becoming so disturbed in their own bodies that they opt for gender reassignment, do not arise out of nowhere but are a reaction to external forces steering these covert agendas.

It was Laing’s radical work with the schizophrenic women of Glasgow that first piqued my interest. My own grandmother, a working- class widow in the 1950s, raising a child (my mother) in poverty, with a heavy burden of inherited trauma (her own mother had died giving birth to her), was diagnosed with schizophrenia. From a young age (about 11), I felt a strong pull and a deep calling to investigate my grandmother’s life, the conditions of her life, and the culture in which she was living. This has profoundly shaped me and influenced my work. I am still on this journey today.

And there it is. Women who are perceived to be witches and who are/have been persecuted accordingly, are not spectral, disembodied figures from ancient pantheons or religious hegemony, they are real life flesh and blood women navigating- and to some degree achieving- autonomy and power within structures and authorities that were never designed for them. They are women who are perceived as dangerous to the self-invested architects of those structures.
